What is RSS?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is an XML-based format for distributing and aggregating Web content (such as news headlines).
Using RSS, Web content providers can easily create and disseminate feeds of data that include, for example, news links, headlines, and summaries.
What kind of content does RankMyPhotos.com syndicate via RSS?
RankMyPhotos.com is now offering the following feeds in the RSS format. The feeds are free of charge to use for non-commercial use. Attribution (included in each feed) is required.
How can I use RSS?
Typical applications for consuming or using RSS include:
- Using a program known as a News Aggregator to collect, update and display RSS feeds
- Incorporating RSS feeds into weblogs
News Aggregators (also called news readers) will download and display RSS feeds for you. A number of free and commercial News Aggregators are available for download. Popular news readers include AmphetaDesk, NetNewsWire, and Radio Userland. Here is a comprehensive list of news readers.
Many aggregators are separate, “stand-alone” programs such as those listed above, other services will let you add RSS feeds to a Web page.
Another way many people use RSS feeds is by incorporating content into weblogs, or “blogs”. Blogs are web pages comprised of usually short, frequently updated items and web links. Blogging as a publishing tool is used for many purposes: traditional journalism, personal journals, group discussions around a topic, and many combinations in-between.
Subscribe to feeds using your feed reader
Look for the  icon and either click and drag the feed icon into your feed reader application, or if that doesn't work, right-click the feed icon, select “Copy Shortcut” or “Copy Link Location”, and then use your feed reader's “subscribe” function with the link you copied.
Subscribe to feeds using your web browser
Look for the or  icon in Firefox, Google Chrome, or Internet Explorer - when viewing a page containing feeds.
Syndicate feed entries on your website
You may syndicate any of our feeds on your site, provided the following conditions are met.
- Full credit must be given to RankMyPhotos.com, in conjunction with the feed's publication on your site.
- A link must be provided to the referenced feed on RankMyPhotos.com and the title of the feed must be linked to the homepage of that feed on RankMyPhotos.com.
What are the terms of use?
The feeds are provided free of charge for use by individuals and non-profit organizations for personal, non-commercial uses. We ask that you provide attribution to RankMyPhotos.com in connection with your use of the feeds.
RankMyPhotos.com also reserves the right to require you to cease distributing these feeds at any time for any reason.
